by SOVEREIGN team
As of today SOVEREIGN has a home on the web. The website is built like the game: dark, calm, with the map as the stage. It should show what the game is about within seconds – and then take you into the game with one click.
What is already there
- The world map as the home page. At the top runs the game's map with borders, cities and chokepoints. On devices with WebGL2 the website loads the same map renderer as the game in the background. The trade lines on it are an example of the mechanic, not a recording of a running game.
- A codex built from real game data. All technologies and all 90 nations of the 2000 start scenario are generated directly from the data of the current build – with year, prerequisites and effects, or GDP, population, form of government and sources. On top come system articles derived from the specifications.
- A public roadmap. What has been released, what we are working on and what comes next is on the community page.
- Live numbers from the game server. As soon as the server is running, the website shows players online, running campaigns and campaigns with free seats. If it cannot be reached, we hide the numbers instead of showing a zero.
- German and English with separate addresses per language.
What is still missing
To be honest: quite a lot. SOVEREIGN is a prototype in active development. Playable is the single player in the browser with the 2000 start scenario – without an account. Multiplayer campaigns, server browser and queues are in progress, as is the account connection for cloud saves. Roadmap voting, playtest waves and comments on the devlog follow once accounts are ready for them. These areas are marked as “soon” on the website.

The website sets no tracking cookies. Fonts and images come from our own server, no third-party scripts are loaded.
We look forward to your feedback – on Discord once the server opens, or via the community page.
Comments with an account follow with the community area. Until then: discussion on Discord.
