Version 0.2.1 World Affairs
The world speaks up: world news with a relevance filter, a ticker, a world newspaper and a year in review. Plus a great-power score over the whole match and victory conditions in the simulation. The game has its own address, play.game.codebalance.dev – old links, invitations and bookmarks redirect automatically. Tooltips on the website and in the game now show exactly the same values.
Save games: Single-player saves from the previous address are taken over automatically the first time you start the game at the new address. You need to sign in and set your preferences there once.
Highlights
-
New · Interface
World news with a relevance filter
By default the log now shows only news that concerns you – your state, neighbours, partners, rivals, your region and the great powers. Elections and recessions of distant states are bundled per month. New: a news ticker, the world newspaper (key N) and a year in review on 1 January.
-
Improved · Website
New address for the game
The game now runs at play.game.codebalance.dev. "Play now" on the website opens the title menu instead of starting a new campaign right away. Old links, join links and invitations keep working and lead to the same place. Your single-player saves are taken over on first start.

Campaign
Great-power score and victory conditions. The simulation now keeps a great-power score over the whole match and knows victory conditions: points at the end, hegemony, teams and scenario goals. AI states can win too. Ranking and end screen follow.

Simulation
The power score now includes navy and air force, accounts for nuclear weapons and weighs alliances by the partners' weight – alliances with micro states hardly add points any more.

Website
Tooltips on the website and in the game now show exactly the same key values from one source: units with upkeep, technologies with branch, year, cost in points and number of prerequisites, terrain with all values.
-
Performance
The website's home page loads about 3 MB less map data, and large Codex pages such as "Goods" are about half the size. In the game the maps keep their full quality.
-
Website
"Forgot your password?" is now a visible link on the sign-in page, the "not found" page offers the Codex search and both languages, and the text on the home page is easier to read.
Fixed
-
Website
The website's error pages now appear in English when you use the English version, and explain access errors, expired sessions and too many requests in plain words.
-
Account
Security and account e-mails are now sent through the queue; if the mail server is down, sign-in, registration and account changes no longer fail, and sign-in or reset links show a clear message instead.
-
Website
The "Technologies" page now counts researchable technologies and the starting baseline separately and lists the baseline as well – every technology page can be reached from there.
-
Interface
In the title menu the logo no longer covers the status line at the top; on short screens the menu scrolls.
